PRO-6 intensifies operations vs high-value criminals

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has ordered all police units across the region to strengthen their efforts against high-value criminals and wanted individuals as part of a broader campaign to ensure a safer environment for all citizens during the upcoming May 12 midterm elections.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, reiterated his directive to his personnel to zero in those who have pending arrest warrants with 10 days left before the polls.

“We have to strengthen our security and non-stop hunting of criminals who are still elusive to the law especially those who were considered as most wanted,” Wanky said yesterday.

He added: “Kailangan mabantayan natin ang kilos ng mga criminal gangs para hindi sila magamit as goons kasi palapit na ang elections.”

Data from the PRO-6 showed that for the month of March alone, 599 wanted persons were arrested in Western Visayas.

Various police units executed a total of 582 operations in March alone which resulted to the apprehension of 102 most wanted persons (MWPs), or suspects facing serious criminal charges and long-standing warrants, and 497 tagged as other wanted persons (OWPs).

“This achievement reflects the commitment of our personnel and the continued collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public,” Wanky said. “We remain steadfast in our mission to bring all fugitives to justice and will continue with our highest efforts until every wanted person is apprehended.”/PN
