SAN JOSE, Antique – This Dec. 22 650 Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs) in Antique will each be receiving from the provincial government P8,400 cash incentive.
The incentive is higher than last year’s P4,000, said provincial population officer Primo Ogatis.
Provincial Ordinance No. 2019-178 grants benefits and incentives to BSPOs.
“Based sa ordinance, P1,000 per month. Pero due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, gin-slash ang budget. Nag P700 per month lang anay kadya (for a total of P8,400 for the whole 2020),” said Ogatis.
He assured the BSPOs that “kon magsakto ang budget next year, hopefully mangin P1,000 per month run ukon P12,000 every year,” said Ogatis.
The budget this year is P5.46 million, higher than 2019’s P2.6 million, he pointed out.
The provincial government under Gov. Rhodora Cadiao acknowledges the important role of BSPOs in delivering the government’s basic services to the people, most especially in this time of pandemic.
BSPOs’ tasks cover, among others, responsible parenthood and family planning, adolescent health and development, and the registry of barangay inhabitants / migrants.
Prior to Governor Cadiao’s administration, Antique’s BSPO each got only between P500 and P1,200 cash incentive./PN
