ILOILO City – Seven policemen of the police station in Pototan, Iloilo would be made to undergo 45 days of retraining on values, character formation and leadership.
Two of the seven policemen were caught drinking liquor inside the police station. The five others were present at that time but tolerated the two cops instead of reprimanding them.
“They violated the standing order prohibiting policemen from drinking liquor inside police stations so I have to do something drastic,” said Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
The two policemen were Patrolman Joerick Ace Ilisan and Corporal Esil Peñarubia. They were caught on July 20 during an unannounced inspection of the regional police office.
The retraining will be in Subic, Zambales.
“This should serve as a warning. Some police personnel continue to violate policies,” said Pamuspusan.
Ilisan also faces criminal and administrative charges for threatening Pototan police chief Major Ronnie Brillo who reprimanded him for drinking liquor./PN
