8 grads in Top 10: WVSU top-performing school in Nursing Board

ILOILO City – West Visayas State University (WVSU) was one of the top-performing schools in the recent Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

All of the university’s 170 examinees passed the exam, with eight landing in the Top 10.

The exam was held on June 3 and 4 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.

The eight WVSU examinees in the Top 10 were:

* Top 4 – Pjeeco P. Bagasbas (86.60)

* Top 6 – Lucil Daisy E. Cerrada (86.20)

* Top 6 – Carmela Alyssa S. Cordero (86.20)

* Top 7 – Gay Malhi C. Catedral (86)

* Top 8 – Jason Rehum E.  Baldimor (85.80)

* Top 8 – Kezia Denise A. De Villa (85.80)

* Top 8 – Merch Jhinlee Eli P. Silvederio (85.80)

* Top 10 – Jaya Teresa L. Gallego (85.40)

A total of 4,326 examinees passed the licensure exam out of the 9,873 graduates of Nursing that took it, data from PRC showed.

The Top 1 was Mark Tristan P. Robosa of the University of Pangasinan (87.60).

WVSU president Dr. Luis M. Sorolla hailed this latest feat of the school.

“The whole university is very happy. We are proud of the College of Nursing,” he said, commending, among others, Dr. Rossana Grace Belo-Delariarte, dean, and the faculty. “This is the proof that we have the best school of nursing.”/PN
