8 WVSU grads top June 2018 Nursing board exam

ILOILO City – Eight graduates of the West Visayas State University in La Paz district were among the top 10 passers of the June 2018 Nurse Licensure Examination.

With a 100-percent passing percentage, the WVSU College of Nursing also ranked first among the top performing schools – all its 170 takers passed the board exam.

“The whole university is very happy about it, and we are proud of the College of Nursing,” WVSU president Luis M. Sorolla told Panay News.

Sharing the No. 1 spot with WVSU for also having a 100-percent passing percentage were Velez College, which had 70 takers, and Xavier University with 59 takers, results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) showed.

The eight WVSU graduates who made it to the top 10 passers and their corresponding ranks and ratings were:

* Pjeeco P. Bagasbas – No. 4, 86.60 percent

* Lucil Daisy E. Cerrada – No. 6, 86.20 percent

* Carmela Alyssa S. Cordero – No. 6, 86.20 percent

* Gay Malhi C. Catedral – No. 7, 86.00 percent

* Jason Rehum E. Baldimor – No. 8, 85.80 percent

* Kezia Denise A. De Villa – No. 8, 85.80 percent

* Merch Jhinlee Eli P. Silvederio – No. 8, 85.80 percent

* Jaya Teresa L. Gallego – No. 10, 85.40 percent

Of the 9,873 takers, only 4,326 passed the NLE, PRC records showed.

The June 2018 NLE was administered by the PRC Board of Nursing.

It was held on June 3 and 4 at PRC testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.

Mark Tristan P. Robosa of the University of Pangasinan ranked No. 1 among the passers with a rating of 87.60 percent./PN
