ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) said various police units captured a total of 87 wanted persons in 15 days of operations across Western Visayas.
From August 1 to 15, 69 suspects categorized as regional, provincial, and municipal most wanted persons were arrested. The remaining 18 individuals were listed as other wanted persons or accused of lesser offenses.
The suspects, according to PRO-6, face various criminal charges including rape, murder, robbery and physical injury, among others.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, PRO-6 director, said the arrests reflect the regional police office’s relentless efforts to establish order, security, and justice in the region.
“The successful arrest of 87 wanted individuals, including those in our most wanted list, is a testament to the relentless efforts of our police personnel and the strong cooperation of our communities. PRO-6 will continue to intensify its manhunt operations to ensure that offenders face the consequences of their actions and that peace and order are upheld in Western Visayas,” Ligan said.
PRO-6 further urged the public to remain vigilant and to provide information that may lead to the arrest of wanted persons still at large./PN
