ILOILO City – Nine police officers tied the knot in a mass wedding hosted by the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) in Camp Delgado.
Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, regional police director, was the principal sponsor.
Four of the nine police officers were couples. The rest married their civilian partners.
“Libre ang misa, pati ang reception libre man,” said Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, PRO-6 spokesperson.
The wedding ceremony was held at the PRO-6 Chapel. Senior Superintendent Noel Ponsaran, the regional police chaplain, was the marriage officer.
After the ceremony on Tuesday morning, a reception was tendered to the couples at the PRO-6 multipurpose hall.
The newly-weds were the following:
* Police Officer 3 Rex Alejandro and Police Officer 1 Charisse Alejandro
* Police Officer 2 Melvin Deypalubos and Police Officer 2 Ada Lyn Agnacito
* Police Officer 3 Joemarie Balisang and Louella May Balisang
* Police Officer 3 Mary Grace Bullon and Benjie Bullon
* Police Officer 2 Gerlie Caldito and Pio Caldito
* Police Officer 2 Ruel Honggo and Teo An Honggo
* Police Officer 1 Jarry Andrada and Jenny Guerra
* Non-uniformed Personnel Resty Depla and Jebeth Depla
* Judy Ann Calaor and Frank Calaor
* Aivan Doloritos and Jay An Doloritos.
“Within the year, another mass wedding may be held or if not, it would be a renewal of vows by married police officers,” said Gorero.
Binag wanted to emphasize the importance of family among police officers, said Gorero, as part of his “transformation” advocacy within the regional police organization./PN
