BACOLOD City – A grenade and a firearm was confiscated from a Cauayan, Negros Occidental resident wanted for frustrated murder.
Police served the 61-year-old Nelson Vidal an arrest warrant in Sitio Libas, Barangay Basak, Cauayan around 2 p.m. on Sunday, according to Inspector Ruben Pajarito, municipal police chief.
Officers seized from Vidal a hand grenade, a .38 revolver loaded with five live bullets and an empty shell.
Regional Trial Court Branch 61 (Kabankalan City) Acting Presiding Judge Fernando Elumba issued the arrest warrant for frustrated murder on Jan. 21, 2014 and set the bail bond at P200,000.
In light of the seizures, Vidal is facing a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. He was detained in the Cauayan police station lockup cell./PN
