ILOILO City – All public markets will soon have new or renovated toilets, according to Local Economic Enterprise Office (LEEO) chief Ariel Castañeda.
The City Engineer’s Office (CEO) made the plans and Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog approved them, he added.
“Gamay na lang nga tiempo. We are thankful to the City Engineer’s Office sa ila maabtik nga response,” said Castañeda.
The approved budget per comfort room is P500,000.
“Once we have the contractor, we can start the construction,” said Castañeda.
The LEEO also plans to beautify the Iloilo Central Market, particularly its section for eateries. It hopes to make the area a “show window” of the market.
The section must be made more conducive for dining, said Castañeda.
The LEEO is overseeing the operation of the city’s slaughterhouse in Barangay Tacas, Jaro district and the public markets in various districts./PN
