ILOILO City – A man stabbed three members of a neighboring family in Barangay Poblacion, San Rafael, Iloilo.
The suspect, Pio Doguera, 54, was detained at the municipal police station.
Two of the stabbing victims were confined at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. They were Diosdado Aliligay, 64, and wife Lorna, 57.
Their son Deasan, 27, was treated at the Barotac Viejo District Hospital.
The stabbing happened around 6:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday.
Diosdado, who was standing in front of his house, was attacked with an ice pick on the chest, said Inspector Ruben Perra, San Rafael police chief.
Lorna and son Deansan tried to stop Doguera but they, too, were stabbed.
Lorna was wounded on the face while Deasan had a wound on an elbow.
“There was no heated argument or confrontation prior to the stabbing but the suspect was a known troublemaker in the neighborhood, especially when he’s drunk,” said Perra.
Responding policemen recovered a 13-inch ice pick from Doguera.
