KALIBO, Aklan – Capitol commended responsible taxpayers in Aklan in 2016.
In a ceremony honoring them at the provincial capitol, Gov. Florencio Miraflores Sr. said their contribution is vital in the implementation of local government programs.
Cited as outstanding real property tax payers on April 21 were Luis Rojas from Altavas; Methelyn Filler, Balete; Johnny and Sercela Rebustes, Banga; Inocencio Lazarraga Jr., Batan; Adonid Labindao, Buruanga; Rafael Realty Development Corp., Lezo; heirs of Paterno Inosanto Jr., Libacao;
Orlando Inosanto Jr., Madalag; heirs of Librada Torres, Makato; Boracay Regency, Malay; Evelyn Iquina, Malinao; Genuino Ice Company, Nabas;
Sampaguita Garden Resort, Inc., New Washington; HCLRD Nadal, Inc., Numancia; Roberto Sazon, Tangalan; spouses Rodulfo and Waldetrudes Garcia, and Ariel and Caridad Garcia for Kalibo; and Miraflores, Ibajay.
Panay Power Corp. in New Washington and Nabas, and Anita Rescate in Lezo were given the “Hall of Fame” top taxpayer award.
Outstanding municipal treasurers were also acknowledged.
Rey Villaruel of Kalibo ranked first. He was followed by Levi Colindres of Batan, Nida Melgarejo of Altavas, Amy de Chino of Madalag, Edna Tindan of Buruanga, and Froilan Redison of Banga.
Dediosa Dioso of Malay was given a “Hall of Fame” top municipal treasurer award.
The awarding was one of the activities leading to today’s Aklan Day, when the province celebrates its 61st founding anniversary. (PNA)
