BACOLOD City – A local government employee of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental was arrested for threatening a neighbor in Purok Taytay, Barangay Oringao.

Myrna Belando, 35, had an argument with Eden Trocio, 53. She drew her .45-caliber Colt and fired at the ground to scare the latter, investigation showed.

Trocio’s wife Leticia, using her mobile phone, called the Philippine Army camp a hundred meters away, police said.

Staff Sergeant Marvin Pingcas of the Philippine Army’s 12th Infantry Battalion in Barangay Camingawan arrested Belando and seized her gun.

Belando was taken to the Oringao barangay hall after the April 28 incident before she was detained in the Kabankalan City police station lockup cell./PN
