MANILA – The government’s fight against drugs, criminality and corruption remains the primary goal of the Duterte administration, said a Malacañang official.
Spokesperson Ernesto Abella on Sunday made the statement following a survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showing that 53 percent of Filipinos still believe the President will fulfill his campaign promise.
“The campaign vow of the President to rid society of drugs, criminality and corruption is part of his overarching goal to build a progressive and inclusive nation where Filipinos enjoy a comfortable life,” Abella said.
The March 25 to 28 survey, with 1,200 respondents, showed a drop of 10 percentage points from the results of last year’s poll.
Abella reiterated the government is still focused on ending the drug problem, criminality and corruption in the country.
“Its effects are now being felt by the people,” the official said.
SWS said the other 47 percent believes Duterte will fulfill “a few” or “almost none or none” of his promises./PN
