BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has approved the contract between the city government and IPM-Construction Development Corp. (IPM-CDC) for the maintenance and operation of the sanitary landfill in Barangay Felisa.

BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has approved the contract between the city government and IPM-Construction Development Corp. (IPM-CDC) for the maintenance and operation of the sanitary landfill in Barangay Felisa.
Eight councilors – Caesar Distrito, Em Ang, Elmer Sy, Cindy Roxas, Renecito Novero, Bartolome Orola, Dindo Ramos and Noli Villarosa – voted in favor of the ratification.
Councilor Ricardo Tan was the only one who opposed, while Councilors Jesus Claudio Puentevella and Ann Marie Palermo abstained. Councilors Sonya Verdeflor and Wilson Gamboa Jr. were out during the voting.
Last week, Tan also opposed the approval of authority grant for Mayor Evelio Leonardia to sign the contract.
Gamboa, on the other hand, said he was out of the session hall during the ratification because the sanitary landfill ownership is still in question.
He explained that until now, the city does not own the property because the Commission on Audit issued a notice of disallowance for its purchase.
The IPM-CDC was the winning contractor in the maintenance and operation of the sanitary landfill in the bidding by the Bids and Awards Committee on May 18.
The company bid P52,420,281.06 based on the approved P52.5-million contract budget./PN
