BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Bulk Water Inc. (BBWI) fast-tracks its project to be finished earlier its deadline which is in the fourth quarter of the year.
The Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa) has contracted BBWI to solve the water shortage in this city.
In a press statement yesterday, BBWI said they are rushing the bulk water project to immediately supply additional volume of water to Baciwa.
BBWI also said they already acquired certificates and clearances from several government agencies to push through with the project. These include Certificate of Zoning from the Zoning Office for land use, Bureau of Fire, Department of Labor and Employment, and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
However, the company’s application for the Environmental Compliance Certificate from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the ongoing building construction permit application for its treatment plant at the Office of the Building Official are still pending.
BBWI said the bulk water pipe-laying is almost complete since the excavation permit was secured earlier from the DPWH. The water rights application for Injection 2 site in Murcia town, meanwhile, will be granted soon.
The bulk water supplier disclosed that they felt the urgency to finish the project soon because as the city expands and develops, the need for more water increases.
The bulk water project will provide P5 million liters of water or more per day, the company said.
Based on the contract between the two organizations which was signed on March 2, 2016, Baciwa shall only pay the consortium for the volume of water delivered by the supplier at the cost of P8.85 per cubic meter, and P9.85 per cubic meter for delivery points 1 and 2, respectively./PN
