ILOILO City – A couple was stabbed to death in Barangay Cabolo-an Norte, Oton, Iloilo.
A neighbor entered the couple’s house and attacked them around 10 a.m. yesterday, said Chief Inspector Rey Pabalan, Oton police chief.
The victims were Woodrow Bechayda, 49, and wife Jonita, 47.
The suspect, 34-year-old Reno Casaria, used two knives, said Pabalan.
From what the police so far gathered, Woodrow was first to be stabbed.
“Then the suspect stabbed Jonita, too,” said Pabalan.
Casaria was suffering from a nervous breakdown and this may have been aggravated by the couple’s constant bullying of him, according to the police chief.
Police investigators did not find the knives used on the Bechaydas in the house. They believed the suspect took them with him when he fled.
Casaria surrendered to the police hours after fleeing./PN
