ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 6 food and other goods for shipment to war-torn Marawi City.
According to PRO-6 deputy director for administration Senior Superintendent Carlito Feliciano, the following were donations from various police stations and concerned civilians:
* 16 sacks of rice
* 41 boxes of canned goods
* 97 boxes of noodles
* a box of infant milk
* two boxes of infant diapers
* 24 boxes of assorted goods
* a sack of toiletries
* 56 pieces of mats
“Kami po ay humingi ng tulong sa bawat miyembro ng kapulisan. Magtulungan tayo para sa ating kababayan sa Marawi,” said Feliciano.
DSWD regional director Rebecca Geamala said her office will be sending the donations to Marawi City this Saturday through the Philippine Coast Guard and 2Go shipping.
“Region 6 is not sleeping while others are in deep suffering. We have to assist them,” said Geamala./PN
