“IT IS a place where people of taste meet,” shares Herlene Sorongon of her store – as sole proprietor of Herlene’s Beauty Salon – which now boasts 23 years of offering style to its varied customers.
First established in July 1994, it was first unveiled as a go-to shop for all hair-styling needs along Delgado Street, before transferring to its current location in 2004 at 104 ground floor Marymart Mall in Valeria, Street, Iloilo City.
“We are very proud of our 23 years of servicing [to our beloved customers],” said Sorongon, sharing that the secret to the longevity of her business is her sincere care for her clients.
“Being service-oriented is the secret, as well as offering low prices,” imparts Sorongon. “I value customer satisfaction very much, because if people are satisfied, they come back.”
“But of course, dapat biskan barato satisfied dapat ang customer. If low ang price and ma-maintain mo ang quality, mabalik-balik gid imo customers,” she adds.
Even with her more than two decades of experience, she has never stayed complacent – especially with the fast-paced changes in the world of hairstyling and makeup, requiring regular skills updates and new services.
“We offer a wide range of services. Our newest is the ‘Brazilian blowout’ and rebonding which customers who want to refresh and restyle their hair should try. We also have diamond hair spa and hair rejuvenation services,” she shares. “We also regularly send our hairdressers to seminars to better hone their skills and be updated on the latest trends. We also give discounts to senior citizens, students, and PWDs.”
