ILOILO City – Police are keeping track of suspected drug personalities who turn themselves in as part of Oplan Double Barrel, the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drug trafficking.
In Barangay Balabag, Pavia, Iloilo they arrest one of those who surrendered in July last year – resident and trisikad driver Tommy Peronilla, 34.
Peronilla sold shabu to a police agent around 11:30 a.m. yesterday, said Chief Inspector Jonathan Pinuela, municipal police chief.
Pinuela confirmed that Peronilla was a drug surrenderee and has been under surveillance since turning up at the police station.
But Peronilla denied the allegation – all he does, he said, was drive a trisikad and earn enough money to feed his pregnant wife and three children.
Five plastic packs of suspected shabu, a matchbox and the P500 marked money were seized from him. He was detained at the Pavia police station./PN
