ILOILO City – Separate physical attacks in Mandurriao district hurt two laborers, police reports showed.
The 28-year-old Romenick Magbanua, who worked at CITI Hardware in Barangay San Rafael, sustained a laceration on the eyes after his supervisor punched him.
“Isog ka gid! Kon indi ka magpati, puli ka ’to (You think you’re so tough! If you won’t follow my orders, better go home),” was what Ronald Taisec said before striking him, Magbanua told the police.
Magbanua had his wound treated after the incident around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 14.
A day before, in Barangay Guzman-Jesena, two men punched a 21-year-old construction worker, police said.
Romel Estil was standing in front of their quarters at St. Paul’s Village around 12 midnight when he was struck on the chest, he told the police.
He identified his attackers as Joseph Espiras and Chris Casiple. It was not immediately clear what the motive in the attack was./PN
