ILOILO – Around 9:30 a.m. yesterday a truck hit a 47-year-old resident of Santa Barbara town in Barangay San Sebastian.
Winoc Banico of Barangay Inangayan, Santa Barbara fell from the motorcycle he was driving, according to witnesses.
A cargo truck trailing the motorcycle ran over Banico.
Concerned residents took Banico to the Western Visayas Sanitarium, also in Santa Barbara, where attending doctors pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
Banico died of severe head injuries.
The truck driver, 33-year-old Jeffrey Reyes of Barangay Nasugban, Santa Barbara, was detained at the municipal police station./PN
