BACOLOD City – Rep. Ferjenel Biron (Iloilo, 4th District) said the construction of a new “international standard” hospital in the city will create more job opportunities for locals.

Biron said this yesterday during the groundbreaking of the Allied Care Experts Medical Center (ACEMC)-Bacolod in Barangay Bata.

Biron said ACEMC-Bacolod will hire about 600 employees – including doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel.

The hospital, with a budget of P1 billion, will have two buildings (7-storey and 5-storey) to be constructed on a one-hectare lot bought from Ma. Luisa Lizares-Lacson.

“The buildings will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities,” Biron said.

The hospital, which is the 23rd in the country, will have a 250 bed capacity, said ACEMC board chairman Amado Manuel Enriquez Jr.

The construction of the buildings will start after securing all necessary permits, said Enriquez.

“It will only take 24 months for the hospital to be completed,” he added./PN
