BACOLOD City – About 500 police personnel from the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) remain in the city even after the MassKara Festival celebration.
The RPSB personnel were deployed to the city to augment the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in securing the 22-day festival.
BCPO officer-in-charge Superintendent Roderick Minong said they still have “many things to do.”
“We still have to plan a police operation. The regional director will lecture all police chiefs and commanders on what will be the best policy system that we can adopt,” Minong said.
For the past weeks, Minong said they have focused on security operations but now they will “focus on the criminal groups in this city.”
Minong did not identify the groups for confidentiality.
Though he said they are already working on a plan that involves police officers from Panay Island.
The BCPO now has 700 police personnel, 100 of which were from the defunct Police Regional Office 18./PN
