HUNDREDS of people waited for the simultaneous opening of five Puregold supermarkets in Roxas City on Oct. 26. With the additional five outlets, the company’s stores have reached 313, according advertisement and communication manager Gwenneth Rodriguez.
“Puregold caters to people with small businesses as we have a wide range of assorted items with very low prices, convenient for those engaged in the sari-s a r i s t o r e b u s i n e s s , ” Rodriguez said.
“ W h a t i s u n i q u e wi th P u r e g o l d i s w e have programs for small entrepreneurs, like seminars to help them set up their own business,” she added.
“ T h e A l i n g P u r i n g Program was des i gned for our consumers where anybody can join and earn points, and members can get free delivery services, green bags, and exclusive access to events such as Aling Puring parties, among others,” she added.
As early as 6 a.m., people gathered outside the stores and patiently waited until the opening mass ended at 9 a.m. The five new branches are in Burgos Ilawod, Roxas Avenue, Legaspi Street, Alba (also in Roxas Avenue) and Pueblo de Panay.

Roxas City entrepreneurs may now become Puregold – Tindahan ni Aling Puring (TNAP) members.
TNAP is Puregold’s customized program designed specifically for small and medium-scale entrepreneurs. Members include sari-sari store owners, karinderya/canteen owners, caterers, and other kinds of resellers.
