FIRST it was will he or will he not comeback. Then we have “you’re next” and just the other day he was really next.
For sure Jed Mabilog is an atrocious actor; he was never known for his thespian talents and moi has no personal knowledge if he has threaded the boards when he was a student.
If his current situation is a movie it would probably be a box office hit with tickets sold out. Why he’s now more popular than Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano combined.
I daresay that “Fugitive No. 1 formerly known as World Mayor No. 5” Jed Mabilog is the Xander Ford of his generation of politicians.
All he needs now is an interview over the BBC or British Broadcasting Corporation ala Jover Laurio and that would really bring the roof down.
Let’s take a peep at recent headlines to appreciate more the “Jed Mabilog Peep Show”:

‘DU30 TO JED: ‘YOU’RE NEXT’
MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has another stern warning to Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog: “You’re next.”
The President issued the warning yesterday at the commemorative session and concert program of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Law Association in Malacañang.
“The mayor of Iloilo City, I identified him. This was broadcast. I said, ‘You are next. You’re next,” said Duterte.
It was unclear what the President meant. Mabilog is currently on an extended sick leave abroad. None from his camp would say where he is exactly.
This instantly became a box office hit and Panay News was sold out and the natives were scrambling where to look for a copy. That Jed Mabilog was the talk of all coffee shops habitués is an understatement.
Just 24 hours later we have this headline from Panay News’ Oct. 27, 2017 issue:

Mayor has unexplained wealth – Ombudsman
MANILA – Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog of Iloilo City has been ordered dismissed from the service by the Office of the Ombudsman for “serious dishonesty relative to his unlawful acquisition of wealth.”
He was also perpetually disqualified from holding public office.
The Ombudsman made public yesterday its ruling on the complaint against Mabilog for dishonesty and grave misconduct a day after President Rodrigo Duterte issued a vague warning to the mayor that he was “next.”
According to the Ombudsman, Mabilog failed to “properly account or explain his sources of income”, specifically the P8.9-million increase in the mayor’s wealth within one year from 2012 to 2013.
The Ombudsman directed the Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government to implement the dismissal order “immediately upon receipt thereof.
If the first movie is a box-office hit, then the sequel is a blockbuster hit, the man is on a roll.
The first headline story had the natives scrambling for copies of Panay News; this one had them queuing the news stands for a copy while the netizens with their laptops and smart phones were glued to panaynews.net.
As moi said, this is the “never ending peep show.” Here comes the third instalment in the saga of “Fugitive No. 1 aka Former World Mayor No. 5” Jed Mabilog again from Panay News’ Oct. 28, 2017 issue:

Will Court of Appeals issue TRO?
ILOILO City – Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog will challenge at the Court of Appeals the Office of the Ombudsman’s order dismissing him from the service.
According to his legal counsel Joenar Pueblo, the Ombudsman committed “grave abuse of discretion.”
The Ombudsman found Mabilog guilty of “serious dishonesty relative to his unlawful acquisition of wealth” and ordered his sacking, citing Rule 10 (Schedule of Penalties), Section 46 (A) of the Revised Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service.
It also barred Mabilog from holding public office forever.
“Nga-a i-perpetually disqualify nila ang isa ka tawo? Daw ka-unfair and unconscionable ang penalty,” said Pueblo.
Section 52a (Administrative Disabilities Inherent in Certain Penalties) of the Revised Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service states: “The penalty of dismissal shall carry with it cancellation of eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits, perpetual disqualification from holding public office and bar (sic) from taking civil service examinations.”
Mabilog will ask the Court of Appeals to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) on his dismissal, said Pueblo.
And it’s getting more and more absurd although this sequel seems to be an anticlimax as almost all the natives of “I Am Iloilo City” are expecting the camp of “Fugitive No. 1 aka Former World Mayor No. 5” Jed Mabilog to come out with this move, so the response was lukewarm to say the least.
Well, not all sequels are box office hits. Some are bound to fail and this one is most likely to.
Jed should be thankful that he didn’t go the way of mayors Parojinog and Espinosa; moi can imagine a weeping Marivic all decked in funeral black, very unpleasant sight indeed.
That Jed Mabilog is a drug lord will make a lot of the natives of “I Am Iloilo City” shake their heads in disagreement but to say that he is corrupt will surely get thumbs up from almost everyone. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
