SAN JOSE, Antique – Gov. Rhodora Cadiao will visit Antiqueno sugar migrant workers, or sacadas, in Negros Occidental.
Cadiao’s visit will be from Nov. 13 to 16 to bring sacadas early Christmas gifts from the provincial government and give them access to services of national government agencies.
Dubbed as Bisita Sacada, this is the second year Cadiao will visit the migrant workers.
“This year there are now more national government agencies joining the Bisita Sacada,” said Cadiao.
The Departments of Health, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, and the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority were among these national agencies.
The Health department will bring medicines to sacadas, Cadiao stressed.
“Through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, we will be distributing rice and canned goods,” she added.
The other agencies will hold information dissemination toward the workers’ protection and welfare, skills development opportunities, and registration.
Ten sugarcane plantations will be visited this year. (PNA/PN)
