ILOILO City – A brother of the village chief of Oñate De Leon, Mandurriao district was arrested.

Alberto Colon, 54, was taken to the Mandurriao police station following the police raid of his house.

Cops of Mandurriao, armed with a search warrant, recovered a .9mm pistol (serial number 13884) with nine ammunitions.

Colon failed to show a gun license or a permit to carry firearm outside residence, according to Chief Inspector Juvy Navales, Mandurriao police chief.

The search warrant was issued by Judge Gloria Madero of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 29.

The raid was carried out around 7:50 p.m. on Nov. 17.

Colon faces a charge for illegal gun possession.

Navales said the Mandurriao police station applied for a search warrant after having been informed that an unlicensed gun was being kept at Colon’s house.

Colon was a brother of Oñate De Leon barangay captain Willie Colon./PN
