ILOILO City – The city government has been invited to this year’s Top Leaders Forum in Metro Manila.
“We are greatly honored to be invited. We will touch base with these groups to show to them Iloilo City is the new economic destination in Asia,” said Mayor Jose Espinosa III.
The forum will be held at Conrad Hotel on Nov. 29.
With the theme “Business for Resilience: Towards a Resilience Philippines”, the forum will focus on the collaboration among science and technology community or academe, private sector, national and local government, and civil society.
The assembly will be hosted by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE) Philippines, and SM Prime Holdings.
Hans Sy, chairman of SM Prime executive committee who also sits as board member of ARISE International, will grace the gathering.
The affair also aims to launch the National Resilience Council (NRC) and Partnerships for Resilience.
It seeks to understand the mechanics of the City Disaster Resilience Scorecard and consider specific priorities for strategies and collective action of ARISE and NRC.
The conference will be participated by 30 presidents and Chief Executive Officers from the private sector, top level public officials from the government, 180 executives and upper management representatives across all industries and sectors.Sessions include topics on Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment in Taiwan; Disaster Leadership and Governance: Land Use Management, among others.
