ROXAS City – Police arrested a resident of Barangay Codingle, Dumarao, Capiz allegedly engaged in the illegal numbers game “bookies.”
James Galanza, 29, was a sales representative (koridor) of Five Star Gaming and Entertainment Corp., operator of Small Town Lottery (STL) in the province.
He was detained at the Dumarao police station custodial facility.
According to the Five Star management, they have warned Galanza against engaging in bookies.
Galanza was engaged in bookies prior to his employment in Five Star as sales representative. The Five Star management was aware of this.
Now he was just using his Five Star credentials as “front,” according to several of his colleagues this writer spoke with.
During his arrest on Wednesday, police seized from him five bundles of bookies betting stubs, a bundle of STL stubs with Five Star markings, P1,300 cash, and a Five Star-issued identification card.
Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 as amended by Republic Act 9278 will be filed against Galanza, the Dumarao police said./PN
