BACOLOD City – A motorcycle mechanic died while he was in a hospital in this city.

Police Station 8 commander Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag identified the mechanic as the 24-year-old Alex Arcanghel of Purok San Antonio, Barangay Sum-ag.

Arcanghel was driving a motorcycle around 10:20 p.m. on Dec. 9 on Araneta Street in Barangay Pahanocoy when a crashed against a Mitsubishi Delica driven by Jomer Arevalo, 37, of San Enrique, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.

Arcanghel fell off the motorcycle and was caught by fire from the vehicle’s engine, police said.

He was brought to the South Bacolod General Hospital and Medical Center and later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where he expired at around 8:35 a.m. on Dec. 10.
