Unceremoniously sacked
A HIGH-RANKING PBA team official has been unceremoniously sacked by the team owner after he failed to follow the latter’s order just before the start of the 2017-2018 PBA Philippine Cup.
A source told Buzzer Beater that the PBA team official was dismissed after failing to get the services of a Filipino-foreigner big man, which went to the team’s rival in the league.
“Medyo nakampante kasi si (team official), akala nila kanila na si (Filipino-foreigner big man). Ang kaso umentra iyong kalaban nila kaya nasulot pa sa kanila,” said the source.
“Ang utos kasi sa kanila ni big boss, kunin si (Filipino-foreigner big man) kahit ano’ng mangyari. Iyon nga lang, medyo nagpabaya si (team official) sa trabaho niya,” he added.
“Kaya noong naunahan sila noong karibal nila, galit na galit si big boss at nagmumura talaga. Binigyan niya ng pagkakataon si (team official) na makagawa ng paraan kaso walang nangyari kaya, ayon, sinibak na siya.”
The source said the team owner really wants to have the Filipino-foreigner big man on his squad so that they will be able to keep in step with the other teams, who have 7-footer centers.
Aside from that, getting the Filipino-foreigner big man on their side will also make it easier for them to get his services if ever the national men’s basketball team needs his size.
“Dahil nandoon na siya sa kampo ng kalaban, chances are malabo na siya makalaro para sa bayan,” said the source. “Para namang hindi niyo kilala ang ugali ng mga bossing ng kalaban.”

Filipino karter Jacob Ang shone the most as he captured the overall crowns in the Formula 125 Sr. Open and the X30 SR classes of the Asian Karting Open Championship.
Ang compiled 142 points after four legs held in Macau (June 10-11), Philippines (Aug. 26-27), Thailand (Nov. 2-4), and Macau (Dec. 9-10) to clinch the overall title in Formula 125 class hands down.
He also dominated the X30 SR class with an overall 137 points after four legs, besting fellow Filipinos Mikey Jordan (70 points) and John Dizon (68 points) in his campaign backed by San Miguel Corp. and Eagle Cement.
Other overall winners were Eduardo Coseteng (Formula 125 Jr. Open and X30 Jr), Zach David (Minirok) and Leung Pui Chiu (Formula 125 Veteran Open).
In the Macau leg, Ang placed second runner-up behind champion Eshan Pieris and Royce Yu in the X30 class and first runner-up behind Royce Yu in the Formula 125 Sr. Open./PN
