BACOLOD City – Police were still investigating the death of a man in Barangay Bagumbayan, Valladolid, Negros Occidental. He was suspected to have committed suicide.

Senior Inspector Junjie Liba, chief of the Valladolid police station, identified the man as the 27-year-old resident Joseph Gorriceta.

Gorriceta’s cousin Jeremy Razo discovered him dead hanging from a beam inside his bedroom with an electrical wire tied around his neck around 8 a.m. on Dec. 28, a police report showed.

Gorriceta was rushed to the Valladolid District Hospital but he died along the way.

The body was transferred to the Baxter Funeral Parlor in the town for a post-mortem examination, police said./PN
