BACOLOD City – Officers from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) have disposed both of confiscated and surrendered firecrackers in the city.
BCPO personnel destroyed a total of 414 firecrackers and seven bogas at the police headquarters in the city on Dec. 31.
The firecrackers and the bogas were from Police Stations 1, 5, 9, and 10.
Some retailers surrendered the items yet some have sold their goods outside the designated selling zones, thus the confiscation, BCPO public information officer said.
The designated selling zone in the city is behind the Pope John Paul II Tower at the Reclamation Area.
Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda, head of the market coordinating and monitoring task force, earlier warned the firecrackers vendors not to sell outside assigned selling zones.
Aside from the confiscation of their items, the vendors who violated this were penalized./PN
