BACOLOD City – The Permits and Licensing Division is expecting a 20-percent increase in the business permit applications in the city this year.
Division head Stela Rose Rayos made such projection after the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) opened at the Bacolod City Government Center on Jan. 3.
The BOSS was set up to make easier and faster the processing of business permits in the city. It will run until Jan. 20.
Rayos said city hall in 2017 issued 22,004 business permits, which is 15.68 percent higher compared to the 19,021 issued permits in 2016.
She added that with the BOSS, business owners can fast-track the business permit application, and thus save time and money.
The BOSS streamlined from five steps into three steps the business permit transaction.
According to Rayos, applicants with complete requirements can have their permits released in a day or two.
The BOSS caters to both renewal of business permits and registration of new businesses.
The Bureau of Fire Protection, City Health Office, City Permits and Licensing Division, City Treasurer’s Office Licensing Division, and City Planning and Development Office Zoning Division set up their respective booths at city hall.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia also issued a local executive order requiring all villages to set up desks at city hall for the fast release of barangay clearances. (PNA/PN)
