TAEKWONDO jins from the stable of Mark V. Pinggol bagged 22 medals during the Dinagyang Regional Taekwondo Championships at the Western Institute of Technology covered gym in Iloilo City.
They finished second place overall after capturing 11 gold, five silver and six bronze medals in cadet, junior and senior divisions on Jan. 27.
Winning gold in the boys category were Christian Pudadera, Red Lusaya, Aiken Emmanuel Avaricio, Jed Pyro Muyong, and Raphael Lloyd Pico.
Capturing gold in girls were Sophia Grace Go, Akimeh Demavivas, Elianna Comuelo, Elisha Aguilar, Kyna Zurielle Gemarino, and Cheri-Nicole Latade.
Samantha Gayle Go, Sofia Jessie Uy, Angela Bermejo, Xyrus Andrei Desierto, and Mary Yven Rivera took home silver medals, while Lyme Tanaka, Josh Carl Macahilig, Juliana Martha Uy, Sendork Valencia, Jannah Velez, and Neilin Samson settled for bronze.
“Masaya ako since nag-i-improve ang performance ng mga players namin in the tournaments na sinasalihan namin,” Pinggol told Panay News. “We might have fallen short sa overall championship, but I am happy with how we performed.”
Aside from Pinggol, Melcris Abas Villarin, Diego Garcia and Christer John Gersanib also served as coaches for the delegation./PN
