ILOILO City – Inside a police station detention cell was where a resident of Leon, Iloilo landed after a .45 pistol was seized from him.
The 23-year-old Gabriel Cablas of Barangay Malublub, Leon did not have the pertinent documents proving his legal ownership of the weapon, a police report showed.
Officers from the Arevalo police station arrested Cablas at around 4 a.m. yesterday in Barangay Santo Niño Norte in the district.
Police were acting on a phone call that said a man – later identified as Cablas – was “creating scandalous acts” while brandishing his firearm in the village.
A Colt MK4 .45 pistol (serial number 81103) with a magazine loaded with six live ammunition was seized from Cablas, who further yielded a magazine with seven live ammunition.
Cablas was detained at the custodial facility of the Arevalo police station. He faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, the police report stated./PN
