BACOLOD City – Putting up unnecessary obstacles on streets in the city must be avoided, according to Councilor Ricardo Tan.
Tan told Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) personnel this, pointing out that the obstacles interrupt the free flow of traffic.
“Putting up signage and unnecessary barriers in the middle of the streets affects the free flow of traffic and sometimes [causes] accidents,” Tan said.
Tan also observed that some traffic enforcers park their motorcycles along the road or worse, beside them while managing traffic.
This causes traffic congestion, Tan added.
He stressed that traffic enforcers must be “conscious” of these acts so that they can render service effectively.
The city council approved last week a resolution, which Tan authored, requesting BTAO to prohibit these acts./PN
