TAEKWONDO jins from Iloilo brought home 14 medals – including 12 golds – in poomsae events of the 2018 WVPRISAA Meet in Iloilo City.
Winning golds in secondary boys were Xyrus Andrei Desierto in individual A, John Patrick Palonpon in individual B, and the team comprising Desierto, Palonpon and Johnriel Sampiano.
Cindy Joy Diasnes (individual B); the team of Kershel Silava, Diasnes and Sophia Tungala; and the mixed pair of Silava and Desierto also captured golds in secondary girls on Sunday. Tungala also won silver in individual A.
Karl Golez and Ian Gabriel Alcarde bagged a gold medal each in tertiary men individual. The two later teamed up to capture another gold medal in the team event.
In tertiary women, Quinn Pauline Hormigoso captured three gold medals – in individual B, in the team event with Joy Mallorca and Cara Nicole Vidallon, and in mixed pair with Alcarde. Vidallon won bronze in individual A.
In addition, Alcarde and Jim Simpas won gold each in men’s kyorugi while Angela Joy Bermejo topped women’s kyorugi, followed by Czarylle Faye Dinero.
The gold medalists will head to the National PRISAA in Tagbilaran City, Bohol./PN
