BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) reminded all local officials and government employees to “maintain honesty and integrity” while in public service.
The SP passed a resolution regarding this just in time for the Anti-Graft and Corruption Awareness Month this May.
“It is the policy of the state to maintain honesty and integrity in public service and take positive and effective measures against graft and corruption,” part of the resolution stated.
It added that graft and corruption – in any form or extent – have detrimental effects on Philippine society.
The resolution cited Presidential Proclamation No. 591 series of 2004, which declared the month of May as the Anti-Graft and Corruption Awareness Month.
“There is a need to continuously create public awareness by disseminating accurate information about graft and corruption, as well as measures for its prevention and prosecution,” it added./PN
