‘Display PH flags in Bacolod City’

BACOLOD City – Government offices, schools and private establishments in the city are encouraged to display in their respective areas the Philippine flag from May 28 to June 12.

Councilor Cindy Rojas said this is in relation to Presidential Proclamation No. 374, which declared May 28 of every year as the National Flag Day.

The Philippine flag is a national emblem first unfurled after the Philippine Revolutionary Army defeated the Spanish forces, Rojas said, citing the proclamation.

Rojas said Executive Order 79 extended the period of celebrating the National Flag Day from May 28 to June 12.

The flag is the “embodiment of all our country’s ideals, culture and tradition,” said Rojas, that is why there is “a need to give it respect and reverence.”/PN
