KALIBO, Aklan – He was arrested after allegedly selling four sachets of shabu to an undercover officer along Diversion Road in Barangay Tabayon, Banga, Aklan.
The 34-year-old Napoleon Ricaforte Jr., a drug surrenderee, was caught around 1 p.m. on June 22 after almost two months of police surveillance.
Officers from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) staged the buy-bust operation.
“May nag-inform sa atin na si Ricaforte ay nagbebenta ng illegal drugs. Para masigurado ang impormasyon, may poseur-buyer na pulis tayo na nakipag-transaction sa suspek,” said PDEU head Chief Inspector Frensy Andrade.
Ricaforte, a resident of Barangay Libas, Banga, sold the suspected illegal drugs at P6,000, police said.
When frisked, he yielded one more sachet of suspected shabu.
Ricaforte surrendered under the Philippine Nation Police’s “Oplan Tokhang” in 2017 but failed to undergo the community-based rehabilitation.
“Mabisyo din siya sa gambling,” Andrade said.
According to the PDEU head, Ricaforte gets his illegal drug supply from outside the province.
Ricaforte was detained at the Banga police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of sections 5 (selling) and 11 (possession) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
