BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu worth an estimated P1.4 million was recovered from two Maranao traders in Purok Camote, Barangay, a police report showed.
Senior Inspector Leo Gestopa, commnader of Police Station 2, identified the traders as Faisalin Ibra, 21, and Norhan Caunda, 42, – all residents of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
An entrapment operation that the police staged around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday led to the arrest of Ibra and Caunda, who lives at the Islamic Center along Lopez Jaena Street.
Ibra has been staying in Bacolod for two months while Caunda, for almost two years now. Both are selling DVDs.
Gestopa said the two had been under surveillance for weeks before their arrest.
Recovered from them five sachets of suspected shabu weighing 100 grams, a cellphone, and P2,000 marked money.
The police also impounded a car that the suspects used.
Ibra and Caunda – detained in the lockup facility of Police Station 2 – were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
