Fire hits poultry farm in Banga

KALIBO, Aklan – Properties estimated to have valued around P1 million went up in smoke after fire hit a poultry farm in Barangay Libas, Banga, Aklan.

The blaze gutted down the poultry farm which was owned by Sonny Retinio, a police report showed.

The fire started razing the farm around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

The farm was mostly made of light materials, allowing the fast spread of fire, police said.

It was not immediately clear what time the responding firefighters were able declared a “fire out.”

The incident was reported to the Banga municipal police station around 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday.

A total of 600 heads of 45-days chicken, cash amounting to P20,000 and pertinent papers were burned in the fire, according to the police.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear./PN
