BACOLOD City – A 26-year-old college student was found dead in their house on Remedios Street, Barangay 3, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Junmar Sinoy Baloro died in apparent suicide by hanging, police said.
His mother, 55-year-old Lolimar Baloro, discovered the body.
Her son was slumped on the floor with a nylon rope tied around his neck and to a beam on their ceiling, Lolimar told the police.
His weight may have strained the rope and severed it, causing his body to fall, police said, citing the mother.
Lolimar said she went upstairs to the second floor of their house to wake her son up at around 7:30 a.m. last Friday, only to find him lifeless.
His grades were failing and because of that he might not graduate this school year, so he got “depressed,” the mother told police.
The remains were at the St. Frances Funeral Parlor in San Carlos as of this writing. A medicolegal officer at the City Health Office will autopsy the body, police said./PN
