ONE day after finally admitting on “Gandang Gabi Vice” that they are indeed a couple, Enrique Gil was more open about his love for his “Alone/Together” co-star Liza Soberano.
Appearing on “Tonight With Boy Abunada” on Monday, Gil called Soberano his “life.”
He also said he can’t answer why he’s in love with Soberano, noting that “love can’t be explained.”
In the interview, Gil admitted to host Boy Abunda that he initially had doubts and that he feared that Soberano might reject him.
“But I just really showed her who I was. I was just a fun guy, nagpapatawa lagi. I’m not really trying to put up a front. I just want to show her that it’s okay to spill ice cream in your shirt. It’s okay to go out in the rain sometimes, have fun,” Gil said.
Gil said their love story started when they starred in the 2014 primetime series “Forevermore.”
“It’s weird like before I met her, I had past girlfriends. But after that, sabi ko hindi ako manliligaw, ayaw ko ng girlfriend until I find this girl. Siguro she’ll just come,” he said.
They first exchanged âI love yousâ when he was in Australia for a tour.
“For some reason, I just said ‘I couldn’t stop thinking about her’ and I was in Australia. Sabi ko, ‘iba na ‘to.’ I called her up on the phone. It was kinda cheesy. Sabi ko, ‘I think ito na yata ito, I don’t know, pero, baka, I love you.’ For two seconds, three seconds, she didn’t say anything and then she said, ‘I think I like you, too. I love you, too.’ And I was in Australia, I was like, I got to go back home,” he said. (ABS-CBN News)
