ILOILO – The police officer who accused former 1st District congressman Oscar “Richard” Garin Jr. of mauling him is in trouble.
A neighbor in Barangay Sambag, Jaro, Iloilo City complained that Police Corporal Federico Macaya Jr. made threats and destroyed their bamboo fence.
The 26-year-old Pio Roy Conde and grandfather, retired police master sergeant Celso Conde, registered their complaint at the Jaro police station.
At around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Condes, Macaya angrily kicked their fence and also told Pio Roy, “May adlaw ka gid.”
Prior to this, according to the Condes, Macaya’s wife Lourdes and Pio Roy had a heated argument over the foul odor emanating from the Condes’ chicken dirt.
Macaya, on the other hand, denied destroying the Condes’ bamboo fence or threatening them.
What he meant by “May adlaw ka gid”, said Macaya, was that he won’t help the Condes should they seek his assistance in the future.
Macaya hogged the headlines December last year. Then a member of the Guimbal police station, he complained that then Congressman Garin mauled him, slapped and spat on his face while Mayor Oscar Garin was training a .45 pistol at him.
Macaya filed criminal and administrative charges against the Garin father and son for assault upon a person in authority, grave coercion, grave threats, physical injuries, slander by deeds, serious illegal detention, alarm and scandal, grave misconduct, conduct unbecoming of public officials, oppression, abuse of authority, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the public./PN
