MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the military to “give the communists what they deserve” following a series of killing in Negros Oriental allegedly staged by the New People’s Army.
In a speech before the agrarian reform beneficiaries in Davao City on Friday, Duterte lambasted the communist group for the murder of four policemen in Ayungon town.
“And if you think that the barangay captain is not cooperating with you, with the communist theories and your ideologies which is rotten already it is a corrupt (one) just like the ISIS, you fight, you kill,” Duterte said, referring to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
“I served notice the other day that I will not take it sitting down. I told my military: Gawin mo sa kanila. Do it (to) them also,” he added. “I will implement a ‘more severe measure’ to address the law and order situation in some parts of the country.”
Duterte said the government cannot fully develop the rural areas because these were “infested with parasites like you.”
“Maghintay lang kayo. Kasi sabi ko sumosobra na kayo… I am short of policemen and soldiers. But you cannot do it unrestrained, unbridled, uncontrolled as if you are the killing machine of the Filipino,” Duterte added.
“You do not work, you exact taxation,” Duterte said. “Itong mga komunista, they’re blaming government for the killings when actually you started the spate of murders there.”/PN
