MANILA – Presidential daughter and Davao City mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will pray for wisdom before mulling to run for presidency in the 2022 national elections.
Sara on Friday said that she wanted to seek guidance from God before plotting her next move.
“Based on life experience, everything will be easier if it’s the plan of God,” Sara added. “Before I think about that, I should ask God first, ‘Is this for me?’”
“Siguro para hindi tayo magkamali, we need to pray for wisdom on who to go about it and how to decide,” she said.
Sara floated as a possible presidential candidate in the 2022 polls after showing her influence in her regional party “Hugpong ng Pagbabago” during the campaign period for the 2019 midterm elections.
Sara earlier this year urged her supporters to stop labeling her as the country’s “next president” as it was not part of her plan and just want to help her father in his final three years of presidency.
“I wish they would not talk about me like that dahil ‘yung mga gustong mag-president as early as now, ilalagay nila ako sa No. 1 sa hate list nila,” Sara said on February.
“Ang ginagawa ko lang naman is tinutulungan ang presidente to get through the remaining three years of his administration,” she added.
Prior to this year, Sara once figured in the top 12 or winners’ circle in the pre-election surveys on senatorial preferences until she announced that she will run for another term as Davao City mayor./PN
