KALIBO, Aklan – He allegedly sold shabu.
The 37-year-old Jilson Lopez was caught in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Estancia here.
Recovered from his possession were a sachet of suspected shabu valued at around P10,000 and marked money worth P1,500, a police report showed.
Officers of the Kalibo police station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Aklan staged the entrapment operation on Monday that lead to the arrest of the suspect.
Kalibo police chief Lieutenant Colonel Richard Mepania said Lopez – resident of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental – was a former drug convict. He was released from jail through the government’s plea bargaining agreement.
He added they have been
closely monitoring the suspect’s illegal drug activities for several weeks.
“Ang buy-bust ay resulta ng matagal na monitoring ng mga operatiba natin. Pumalag
ang suspek sa loob ng isang restaurant habang inaaresto,” he added.
Lozada was detained in the custodial facility of the municipal police station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
