STL in NegOcc resumes but with stringent conditions

BACOLOD City – The authorized agent of Small Town Lottery in Negros Occidental – Super Lucky Beagler Inc. (SLBI) – has resumed its operation.

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO)-Negros Occidental branch manager Jose Manuel Villagracia said SLBI complied with President Rodrigo Duterte’s new conditions.

SLBI, according to Villagracia, was able to pay a cash bond equivalent to three months of their presumptive monthly retail receipt.

One of the conditions set for the STL to resume was the payment of a cash bond equivalent to three months of PCSO’s share in the agents’ guaranteed minimum monthly retail receipts (GMMRR).

Operators who will fail to comply with the new conditions will have their STL franchises terminated and offered to other interested parties.

PCSO general manager and vice chairperson Royina Garma informed Jexter Mercado, president of SLBI through a letter dated Aug. 30 about the approval of the President on the resumption of STL operations on Sept. 1.

“You are advised to faithfully comply with your duties and obligations under the STL Agreement/Deed of Authority,” cited on Garma’s notice.

She added that within five days from receipt the SLBI must submit to PCSO Branch office the Certified true copy of the corporation’s latest tax clearance and Secretary’s Certificate/Board Resolution.

SLBI is the only authorized agent of PCSO to operate the STL in the province with its drawing centers in Silay City, Negros Occidental.

On Aug. 22, he lifted the suspension on STL. But PCSO’s Garma said there are conditions laid out for agencies seeking continuous operations./PN
